Joel Grimes: Dramatic portraits with one light
thursday 6 july 2017, 13:13 by Elja Trum | 710 views | 0 commentsThe excellent photographer and educator Joel Grimes created an insightful video for Westcott on how he shoots dramatic portraits of a male model. Joel takes you through the whole process step by step and tells you why he makes certain choices.
The result are great portraits. My favorite is his first shot with the arms folded and the use of only one light (the Westcott Collapsible Beauty Dish). Great to see what a creative photographer can create with just one light and a black background.
